Welcome to our wonderful school and thank you for visiting our website. My name is Mrs Telfer, and I am extremely proud to be the Executive Headteacher of the Beamish & Pelton Federation.

Beamish Primary School is located in the small village of No Place near the town of Stanley and is approximately 7 miles from the historic city of Durham. The school is a smaller than average primary school with a nursery offering 15- and 30-hour places for 2, 3 and 4-year-old pupils.

Photos from Beamish Primary School's post Beamish Primary School has been part of Express Yourself: North East Festival of Languages 2024.
Key Stage 1 and 2 took part in the Peace Cranes project, making colourful paper birds. These are currently being displayed in Newcastle Civic Centre and the Prince Bishop Shopping Centre in Durham.
Some will be sent to Japan after the Festival to be part of the Hiroshima Peace Memorial children’s exhibition at Sadako Sasaki’s memorial. It is a moving tribute and reflects the message inscribed on her statue: This is our Cry, This is our Prayer, Peace in the World.

Photos from Beamish Primary School's post Last week the fire brigade came into school to speak to Jupiter Class, about their Easter Arson Reduction Campaign. This has been launched in County Durham to tackle the deliberate fires being started around Durham during the Easter holidays.
The children explored different sections of the fire engine and different equipment used to tackle fires and any other situations. 8 Likes

Photos from Beamish Primary School's post Huge well done to our Beamish Beasts Robotic Team, who on the final day of the VEX IQ competition in Telford won the 'Create' Award. This is an incredible achievement for our team who were recognised for working hard, and for devoting their time and effort to being part of this wonderful competition.
The team achieved 4th place in the final teamwork challenge, and overall, the team finished in 11th place in the UK!
A key quote from the weekend from one of our children; a judge asked ‘What has been one of the biggest things you’ve learned in this process?’ And they answered ‘To never give up’ 💙
