The whole school had a lovely time at our special picnic to celebrate the Royal Wedding. We had scones with jam, cucumber sandwiches and a special cake. Afterwards we played games.
The whole school had a brilliant day, celebrating the wedding of Prince Harry ad Meghan Markle. There were some amazing outfits on show, and after a parade round the hall, everyone started their wedding activities.
Gillian, our cook, made a fantastic Wedding lunch, and decorated the hall. The day ended with a lovely Royal picnic. Scones, cakes and cucumber sandwiches were enjoyed by all.
Well done to the worthy winners of this years Easter egg competition. We had some fantastic entries so judging was tough.
We eventually had our (snow) delayed book day last week. The whole school joined in. We shared our favourite books and dressed up as our favourite characters. Jupiter class read to Neptune class, and children in Saturn class went to EYFS to share books with them. Some of the teachers also swopped classes to share stories.
Unfortunately, school will not open on Friday 2nd March. Roads and paths remain treacherous and there is more snow forecast. We look forward to seeing everyone on Monday 5th March.
Reluctantly we have made the decision to close Beamish for a second day. The conditions show no sign of improving any time now.
Everyone had a super fun playtime in the snow today. Luckily everyone was wrapped up warm, and enjoyed being outside.
Children in Years 5 and 6, were offered the amazing opportunity to sing at The Sage, Gateshead. As part of the learning alliance with Park View School, the children had singing lessons from a specialist music teacher. They learnt three lovely Christmas songs which were performed with other children from the Chester Le Street cluster. Four of the class came to The Sage and had a fantastic time.
Last week Neptune had a visit from our lovely school nurse, Donna Scott, who gave an interesting lesson on teeth.
The children learnt all about how to brush properly, and how veryimportant it is to look after our teeth.
