Beamish Primary School is proud to be in partnership with Magic Breakfast, an organisation that provides schools with free healthy breakfast foods to ensure that no child goes hungry. A hungry child cannot concentrate so could miss out on half a day of lessons every school day if not given anything nutritious to eat first thing.
Each morning, all children in school have the opportunity to have breakfast in our the hall before starting the day’s learning. On the menu, we have delicious bagels and a range of nutritious cereal . During half term and school holidays, we offer food parcels to our families who need that extra support.
Marcus Rashford’s Book Club
Magic Breakfast have recently partnered with premier league footballer and anti-poverty campaigner Marcus Rashford and
Macmillan Children’s Books, to launch the Marcus Rashford Book Club – a programme to encourage and nurture a love of reading in children.
As part of the programme, our KS2 children were donated free individual copies of the book ‘A Dinosaur Ate My Sister’ by Pooja Puri. They were very excited and grateful for the book and have been reading it on their own, with siblings and families at home.
